This Stamina rower is definitely worth the money.
It is sturdy and strong enough to give you a full body workout that is no different from other rowers that are bigger and more expensive.
Even better is that, is compact in size and is less than 40 pounds.
This rower’s dual handles come with full range of motion that makes you feel like you are actually rowing on water.
You can change resistance levels on it and it has a fully functional monitor to track your fitness data.
This rower is good but it has its problems.

Resistance Type
This rower gives out resistance through a single gas-shock that is situated below the seat.
Just like other hydraulic piston- resistance rowers, it is low in price, small in size, has various resistance levels and is less noisy unlike other resistance types of rowers.
Doesn’t that sound awesome?
Well, that’s only have of it.
I must tell you though that similar to other hydraulic piston-resistance rowers, it is prone to leaking and the rowing motion it offers is not the most realistic.
The rower offers 12 levels that one can slowly progress through from the first to the twelfth.
Resistance levels are changed on the gas-shock. But be careful because these shocks become hot and should be allowed to cool before adjusting them.
Very few users said that the work out provided by this rower was not challenging for them but most people, even those who work out daily said the rower provides a full body-workout.
I have a feeling those that complained are using the incorrect rowing form. If you use improper form, it is common to feel as though some muscles are working out and others are not. The correct way is to equate your body into 10, that is, use 6% legs, 2%arms and 2% core.
Others are just higher in their fitness level are require a more advanced rower.
Like I had said earlier, the piston may leak. This problem is common among all hydraulic-piston rowers so just use a matt on the floor under your rower.
In as much as this resistance type has its disadvantages, the advantages are still way more.
Generally, this rower has good resistance for beginner rowers.
Monitor
The Body Trac Glider 1050 has an electric multiple function monitor.
It has a fitness meter that records track of time, calories burned and strokes completed.
Once you use the monitor in scan mode it shows you all the functions in intervals of six seconds so there is no need to stop and check function by function.
It uses one AA battery that comes with the rower. The monitor shuts down if let inactive for more than 4 minutes.
These are the complaints about the monitor:
It has no backlight so it cannot be used in low lit rooms.
The calorie counter is inaccurate and should only be used in comparing effectiveness between workouts since it is based off an average user.
The quality of plastic on the monitor is not that good.
The monitor on the Body Trac Glider is basic for keeping track of the important workout data. At the end of the day, it is greater than most of the monitors considering the price.
In summary, the few defaults this rower has should not be your deciding factor if you want to buy it.
Build Quality
This rower has a great frame made of steel and aluminium on the center beam. How sturdy this rower is may surprise you because it’s so light at less than 40 pounds.
Just like other hydraulic piston resistance rowers, the Body Trac Glider 1050 is very quiet.
The noise it emits comes from the seat rolling back and forth. Its sounds just like a skateboard on the sidewalk,
The piston is not loud at all, just a small hissing sound. Others mention some noise coming from the roller seat but said it was fixable by using WD-40.

Comfort
The seat is plastic that is molded and is comfy for light to medium intensity work out.
Other users said that after long use, the seat becomes uncomfortable.
They suggested placing towel or small pillow on it before use.
The rower’s handle bars are padded grips that are not very hard nor very soft, which is better than cheap foam which does not last.
A reviewer complained that if one grips too tightly they become uncomfortable but this is easily fixable with a pair of workout gloves.
Most people talked about the foot straps and pedals. They complained of their feet slipping out of them.
The problem is that the pedals are large and the straps are too high at the toe level. This leaves the rest of your leg unsecured which makes them slip out.
Some people fixed the solution by putting the pedals upside down and others installed u bolts at the bottom. The issue with the foot pedals and straps is not big enough to make buyers not purchase this rower.
One of the best features on this rower is the rowing motion. The set glides perfectly and the handles operate full range due to the dual jointed arms.
You want to know what operating in full range is?
Well, the handles move back and forth as well as in a circular motion which is great because it mimics being in water.
Storage
If you do not want a rower that consumes a lot of space, then this rower will definitely do for you.
To store this rower all you need to do is unlock the arms by unscrewing two knobs then fold those arms, use the screws the lock the arms in and stand the rower up straight.
All this just takes a few minutes.
It can fit at the corner of your house or in the closet.
The rower may be less than 40 pounds but it is dense, so it is better to store it close to where you use it other than moving it around.
Capacity
The maximum weight according to the manual is 250 pounds.
The maximum height is 6’6 feet.
The long gliding track and the large foot pedals make it ideal for tall users.
Shorter people than 5’ have had no issue with this rower other than the feet coming off the pedals.

The pedals, seat and arms are the parts that need assembling.
